Welcome to Cavalaire sur Mer
Set behind a magnificent bay which is named after the town, on the blue waters of the French Riviera along a 4km stretch of white sand, the town of Cavalaire-sur-Mer enjoys an exceptional climate with 300 days of sunshine per year.
Bordered by the green Massif des Maures (524 metres), Cavalaire covers a surface area of 1,674 hectares for just over 6,450 inhabitants. This relatively new town in the Var was founded in 1929 and was classified as a tourist resort in 1956. It is now particularly appreciated for its large fine-sand beach, for the quality of its clean waters, its marina, its Provençal market, its traditional Provençal celebrations and for the entertainment and events that are organised for locals and visitors free of charge throughout the summer months.
 
Cavalaire-sur-Mer has always been known as a "family" destination. Its tourist office was awarded the Station Nautique*** nautical resort seal of approval in 2008, and was awarded the Famille Plus label in 2009. The Famille Plus label is recognised and approved by the Ministry of Tourism and aims to improve the district's services and facilities with a view to optimum satisfaction for families with children.
 
The Cavalaire-sur-Mer beach town enjoys an excellent setting and environment and reconciles tourism and environmental protection in an exemplary manner. The assignment of the Démarche Qualité des Eaux de Baignade (Bathing Water Quality) label by the Ministry of Ecology in 2009 endorsed the town's environmental strategy. This certificate testifies for the town's commitment to reduce potential sources of upstream pollution, guaranteeing the public that it will be provided with accurate information and that the town is fully equipped in terms of pollution control.

Cavalaire is twinned with Wolfach in Germany and New Port Richey in the United-States.
A Friendship Protocol was signed in 2006 with Jimei in the province of Xiamen, China.
Cavalaire is also developing friendship initiatives with Santa Marguarita in Italy.
